Is Popcorn Sutton’s Legacy Juice Stealing from Big Jack?

The image of whiskey mainstay Jack Daniel’s is under attack by the ghost of Popcorn Sutton, legendary moonshiner and namesake of, “Popcorn Sutton’s Tennessee White Whiskey.”

If you’ve heard of Popcorn Sutton, you’re either an honest-to-Pete moonshine fan or, like the rest of us, you saw him on “Moonshiners.” J&M Concepts (whose partners include Hank Williams, Jr.) now produces their whiskey with Sutton’s name on it, and have designed a bottle that Jack Daniel’s believes infringes on their identity and aims to create confusion for the consumer.

Jack Daniel’s is the biggest selling whiskey in the world, and has filed a lawsuit to get  J&M Concepts’ new packaging undone and removed from shelves.

What do you think? Vote in the poll to the right.

More details are available from the Richmond  Times-Dispatch.
