Recipe: Black Santa

It’s that time of year, Fall/Winter! And that means the best drinking weather of all, Rain/Sleet/Snow/Sun!

In breathless anticipation of the inevitable Christmas parties and snow-ins, let’s really get ready. Let’s be two steps ahead of all the drones running into the grocery store for the last of the peanut butter, toilet paper and boxed wine. Let’s be ready to keep our tootsies warm, as well as the tootsies of our nearest, most-tolerable neighbors.

The Black Santa

1/2 oz. Vodka
3/4 oz. Liqueur, coffee (not Kahlua)
1/4 oz. Schnapps, peppermint
(Yay, we finally found a use for that bottle of RumpleMinz whatshername left in the liquor cabinet in 1999!)

Mixing Instructions

Start with an old-fashioned filled halfway with ice.
Pour the vodka and coffee liqueur.
Add the peppermint schnapps and serve.

Get ready for a cool rush of peppermint, but don’t worry, it’s all good news. The coffee and vodka flavors mask the peppermint just enough to be downright delightful. It’s not exactly a candy cane in liquid form, but it’ll remind you of one. The best part is the rush up to the sinuses where a good schnapps does it’s cleansing magic.

Accompanying Food or Activity Suggestions:
